5 Tips for Storing Your CBD Oil

by MARK3 CBD |

MARK3 Full-Spectrum CBD Oil is a premium, pure product. When stored properly, you can expect high-quality CBD oil to retain its potency for up to two years. MARK3 CBD Oil is 100% organic, which means you do not have to worry about ingesting pesticides or other harmful chemicals. However, this also means there are no preservatives present to extend the shelf life artificially.

MARK3 CBD oil has a shelf life of two years.

Here are five tips to maximize the shelf life of your CBD oil.

1. Darkness is Good for CBD

Light can break down many chemical compounds including cannabinoids. Furthermore, light can alter the taste of edible products. This is one reason why most beer bottles are amber. Likewise, you’ll notice that your MARK3 Full-Spectrum CBD Oil bottles are also amber colored in order to shield light from the contents.

You can help extend the life of your CBD oil by keeping the bottles in a dark environment. You should avoid storing the bottles near sunlight, such as on a windowsill. A closed pantry or cupboard is an ideal location for both temperature regulation and minimizing exposure to light.

2. Heat is Bad for CBD

Like light, heat can also break down molecules. Avoid letting your CBD oil get hot by storing it in a climate-controlled area. You need to ensure that your bottles are not near a stove, oven, or any other appliance that generates heat.

If you carry your CBD oil in your vehicle, don’t leave it inside. We all know how hot the interior of cars can become, especially during the summer. MARK3 is currently developing a leak-proof container for your CBD tincture, so you can take your CBD oil everywhere you go.

3. Avoid Freezing CBD

The cold will not degrade your CBD oil like light or heat. In fact, some people freeze their CBD oil for long-term storage, but this is a bad idea for one simple reason: thawing. If you freeze your CBD oil, you may have trouble with thawing. Once frozen, it can be difficult to restore CBD oil to a uniform consistency. You may be left with a slushy mess instead of a smooth, easy-to-consume oil.

4. Avoid Refrigerating CBD

Your fridge may seem like a perfect place to keep your CBD Oil. After all, it is usually dark and certainly not too warm. However, storing CBD oil in a near-freezing environment can cause it to thicken, making it difficult to dispense from the dropper. Additionally, low temperatures may change the taste of your oil or make it cloudy.

5. Limit CBD Exposure to Air

Just as with light and heat, exposure to air can degrade CBD oil quality. To avoid this problem, simply keep your MARK3 CBD Oil in its original bottle and be sure to tighten the cap snugly when not in use. If you must transfer your oil to a new container, make certain the container is airtight, securely sealed, and protected from light.
